Celebrations Around The World

Mother's Day is celebrated in many countries across the length and breadth of the globe, but Mother's Day is not celebrated on the same date everywhere. The date of celebration of Mother's Day varies from one country to another. While it is largely celebrated on the second Sunday in May, some countries observe Mother's Day in the other months of the year too.

Apart from varying dates, the celebrations also vary in flavor from country to country. In the United States, on Mother's Day, the national flag is put up on every house and important buildings to honor motherhood and the mothers of the country. In UK, a special cake is prepared for mom on Mother's Day. The English call it the 'Mothering Cake'. In France, Mother's Day celebrations generally include family gatherings and family dinners, at the end of which a special cake is given to mom. This cake that the French bake for their moms looks like a big bunch of flowers. Japan holds exhibitions of children's drawings and crafts, that have been specially created for their mothers.

But no matter what the differences, the one common celebration remains everywhere, making mom feel special on Mother's Day! So whatever means you choose, this remains the sole end to be achieved irrespective of place and its people.
