 Conclusion
So that’s Christmas for you! A season full of joy, a holiday brimming with cheer—Christmas uncorks the festive spirits in the hearts of all and sundry in both secular and religious ways. But in all, Christmas is the time to let your hair down and be merry with friends, family, and beloved or even with your ex-love. The essence of this holiday is to spread the good tidings all around and fly the dove of peace among all humans. So embrace all—the ones loved and lost and the ones still held close—with all your good wishes and Christmas holiday spirits.
And of course you know the warmest expression of this holiday, Christmas, is the Christmas card. Just like giving presents on Christmas, Christmas greetings also occupy a major part of our Christmas celebrations. It’s a different feeling altogether to send and receive cards on Christmas! Warm and snug, as they are, Christmas cards help one express a world of thoughts and feelings to one's loved ones. Research says that as many as two billion Christmas cards are exchanged by Americans every year! Well, that says it all, doesn't it?
Do you know when the first Christmas cards were made? They were created way back in 1843 by Sir Henry Cole, and designed by John Calcott Horsley. Interestingly, these two Britons are also responsible for coining the phrases ‘Merry Christmas’ and ‘Happy New Year'!
So, now that Cole and Horsley made things easier for you, get into the wishing fling—make your friends and family feel special, say a ‘Thank You’ on Christmas, greet your boss and colleagues, warm up to your sweetheart, share the spirit of Christmas with your teachers, neighbors and Reverend, send inspiring wishes to your godchild, surprise the little ones with some Christmas goodies and wish everyone you know a very 'Merry Christmas'! And that's not all. You needn't feel left out if you're the groovier kind. Christmas is a time when you can share some fun with your buddies and cousins, play peachy pranks on them or get into Santa's gear and drop some frosty cool Christmas wishes on your way to celebrating a snowy white Christmas! It's also quite popular to invite your folks over to your place on Christmas and treat them to roasted turkeys, pies, fruitcakes, baked breads, cookies and so on. You can keep a groovy plan ready well in advance before your dear ones’ homecoming for the holidays. But in case you're missing someone special, don't forget to let him/her know how much it costs to stay away in this special time of the year. You can also send your warm tributes on this wonderfully apt occasion of Christmas.
As you perhaps already know, Christmas is the busiest season of the year. Shopping, of course, reaches its all-time high in the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Be it gifts or greetings, it’s always wise to plan ahead and avoid the mad Christmas rush! Christmas, after all, comes only once a year!
